My writing and retreat work flow out of my life-long spiritual journey that includes experiences in church ministry, work in the business world as an entrepreneur and management consultant, and what I’ve learned in my family roles of husband, stepfather and grandfather.
My work life of over the last 45 years spans two careers. My first career included ten years of ministry as a lay person in several church-related positions: parish Director of Religious Education, diocesan Director of Youth Ministry, and Delegate for Spiritual Development for the Diocese of Kalamazoo – a vicar-level position supervising of all the ministries of spiritual development.
In my second career, I founded and led the consulting firm TSI Consulting Partners, Inc. For 35 years, I provided strategic leadership as the firm’s President while serving a national client base in the areas of strategy formulation, strategy implementation and aligning organizational structure with strategic requirements. My clients have included Fortune 500 companies, high growth mid-sized companies, philanthropies, colleges and universities, academic health science centers, public health organizations, and community organizations.
My educational background includes a B.S. Degree in Mathematics from Central Michigan University and a Master of Arts in Theology from the University of San Francisco.
My wife, Carla, and I have been married for over 30 years – which has helped me learn all kinds of life lessons from her, my four stepchildren and my six grandchildren. When I have spare time, I enjoy flying as a private pilot, playing golf, and doing anything that involves my grandchildren.
